For Lorn David Shields, growing up in New Mexico instilled a deep understanding and sensitivity for the light, the landscape, materials and textures of the southwest. This awareness is integral in his original concepts for design and construction details. Since 1969, when he entered the design/construction industry in Albuquerque, Shields has gained an involved understanding of the unique needs of both the commercial and residential client. His success in the industry led tho the start of his own Architectural firm in 1977 and in 1991, Shields combined his architectural and construction backgrounds to form Equus, Inc. and moved the the Santa Fe Area.
