What is Green Design-Build?  It's a design and construction practice that conserves energy, preserves the environment, and decreases your monthly utilitity costs.  It's the smart way to build or remodel for the future.

There are many areas of new construction or remodeling where you can take advantage of green design. 

 Exterior:  Exterior walls are one of the most effective areas to take advantage of natural solar effects, both in winter and summer. Wall Insulation, natural solar heat sinks, and window insulation efficiency.

Solar Heating: Adding a solar heating system to your home is a very good way to combat increasing energy costs and raise the value of your home while keeping "green".  New Mexico is Ideal for this type of heating because most days are sunny.  There are two popular methods, hot water transfer and photo-voltaic.  Each has it's advantages.

Bathroom:  Water usage accounts for about 18% of indoor water use and most of the "Hot" water use.  Designing a bathroom using "green" technology can make your bathroom more efficient, pleasant, and save you money in the long run.

Kitchen: Designing a kitchen to be green can save you energy and resources in the future.  You should be able to move around the three key cooking areas, the sink,  stove, and refrigerator easily.  A kitchen is one of the main habitat areas of a house.  Consider adding features that do more than just "Cook and Eat".  Open up some walls, create a living space or entertainment area.  All of these things can be done with "green" in mind with energy efficient appliances.

 There are many other cost-saving green design efficiency projects that not only can make your living more enjoyable, but can also have resale value and tax benefits.
