Are You an Acrobat in the Bathroom?

Do you become a contortionist while trying to work around your significant other to get ready in the morning? Does your single vanity bathroom, while charming, simply not provide enough space for your getting-ready needs? Does shaving in your petite shower look more like an acrobatic routine than a simple act of good hygiene?

Bathroom

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then it might be time to remodel your bathroom. Before you let the word “remodel” give you heart palpitations and sweaty palms, consider these noteworthy points:

  1. A Bathroom Remodel May Increase the Value of Your Home
“Remodeling your bathroom is one of the most profitable home improvement projects, says Marie Leonard, home improvement expert and author of Marie’s Home Improvement Guide.” (source) Even if you make a couple of minor changes, like upgrading the vanity and replacing your 1970s toilet with a fresh commode, this will speak volumes to the value of your home. Everyone wants a clean, fresh and updated space to get ready in, and a bathroom that has had a little aesthetic help (whether botox injections or a full-on facelift) will be appealing to future buyers.
  1. Create a More Energy Efficient Home“The EPA estimated that if one in ten homes upgraded their bathrooms with energy efficient fixtures, over 70 billion gallons of water and $1.5 Billion worth of energy costs would be saved. Whether you are going green or looking to save some green, updating your bathroom with energy efficient faucets, showerheads or lighting will put you on the right path.” (source)
  1. Save Your Relationship
Okay, so this point was meant to give you a good laugh more than anything, but there is some truth to the idea that a larger/upgraded bathroom will improve the health of your relationship. Imagine the ease of getting ready with ample counter space and not one, but two sinks. Picture a pristine, white sink without even the hint of a freshly shaven chin hair on it. Consider the joy of being able to close the door on your spouse while he or she uses the facilities and still be able to enjoy a nice bubble bath in your oasis of a bathroom. These things can actually go a long way in the realm of relationship health and will give you one less thing to argue about.

At Equus Design-Build, our goal is to give you the bathroom remodel of your dreams. We would love to get to know you, familiarize ourselves with your space and your habits, then deliver on a bathroom that suits your desires. Contact us today.
